The Voice Blind Auditions Round 1 Results

The first round of The Voice Blind Auditions are now over and each coach has three singers on his or her team. Here are the results from the first night.

Christina Aguilera picked up Frenchie Davis (of former American Idol fame), Tarralyn Ramsey, and Beverly McClellan.
Cee Lo Green selected Kelsey Rey, Tje Austin, and Vicci Martinez.
Blake Shelton chose Xenia Martinez, Elenowen (duet), and Patrick Thomas.
Adam Levine will work with Rebecca Loebe, Jeff Jenkins, and Javier Colon.

This leaves five open spots on each of the coaches teams so we’ll have a few more Blind Auditions to go before the selections are complete on The Voice.

Let me know what you thought of the premiere episode. I was impressed. It was much better than I thought it’d be as there really was a good voice on talent even if I wasn’t impressed by some of the singers they picked over those they let go. The Voice show could have some real potential here, but it’s still got a lot left to prove.

I hope Scotty was watching last night because Patrick Thomas showed what a one trick pony he is and how much competition there is in the Country music scene.

Patrick Thomas on the Voice does have an advantage over American Idol’s Scotty McCreery, Patrick is being mentored by a major country music start, however I doubt it’s going to hurt Scotty too much.
First people have been watching Scotty on Idol since January. Everywhere people are rooting for Scotty and it’s just not teen girls, or country music fans. I hear people say that Scotty is making them like country music, and I sure the record executives in Nashville have been keeping an eye on Scotty and are waiting for him to be finished with Idol so they can work for him.
Secondly American Idol has a music industry insider in Randy Jackson who has worked with and produced records with numerous artists everywhere including country artists, and I am sure he’ll get the ball rolling for Scotty. But I still do admit that Patrick Thomas does have an advantage over Scotty in being mentored by a major country music star.

Not just Patrick Thomas — Jeff Jenkins was amazing and although he sand a country song he was already ready to be a cross-over star.

I stopped watching idol. This show is much better. Almost everyone last night is better than Haley, Jacob, Scotty, and Casey.

I love the fact that several of these singers would have never made it on idol because of their looks.

Great show and a very positive premise: focus on the singing.

Does anyone know if they plan to release the 4 coaches’ version of “CRAZY”??? Love and already have Cee-lo, but the group vocals on this are outstanding!!
