The Voice 2012 Top 8 became the Top 6 Tuesday night and one of the coaches was left without a team when America’s votes were revealed.

Team Christina bit the dust when Dez Duron was eliminated along with Cody Belew from Team Cee Lo. That means Teams Cee Lo, Adam and Blake each have two artists remaining in the contest. Does this mean Christina gets to stay home from now on? Ha. Don’t count on it.

At the start of the show we got the first in many filler episodes with one little elimination thrown in between each performance. So slow, drawn-out and frustrating. But anyone who has ever read my blogs, knows how much I loathe singing show results shows.

So after the first group performance, Carson gets the Top 8 on the stage to reveal the first person who is safe.  And that person was Team Blake’s Cassadee Pope, who again did well with her Monday night performance on iTunes.

Some more filler lead us into the next announcement. Team Adam’s Amanda Brown was called out as safe and sent on to join Cassadee.

Up next was an actually good performance from some of the contestants and then we learn that Team Adam’s Melanie is sent on to the Top 6. That’s followed by a duet with Dez and Cassadee and then the rest of the results.

Team Cee Lo’s Nicholas David was sent to safety next, followed by Team Blake’s Terry McDermott.

That leaves Cee Lo’s Tervin Hunte and Cody and Christina’s Dez. Of these three, I knew it could be any of them, but when Carson announced that Trevin was the one who was safe, I was not surprised. I had predicted two of these three would be leaving the contest tonight. This contest, for the most part, has played out as most have expected.

It’s officially to the point that I no longer disagree with who remains and who has been sent home. To be honest, I’d love to swap out Melanie Martinez with Bryan Keith and Trevin Hunte with Sylvia Yacoub or even Cody.
