NBC has officially greenlit The Voice 2012 picking back up in the fall. So that means we’ll be seeing the return of coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

But what about The Voice 2013 next Spring? That’s when NBC might need to start looking at a new set of coaches.

“Two commitments a year is more than they expected,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told The Hollywood Reporter. ”We love them all and they’re all spectacular and different from one another. We love the chemistry.”

So what he’s saying is, if they do bring in a new set of The Voice coaches for the Spring it will only be because the existing ones just wouldn’t have time for it (and NBC probably couldn’t afford it).  And it sounds like the regular coaches would return again in the fall 2013. So it could just end up revolving back and forth in the future. But with NBC, you never know what’s going to happen. We’ll have to see it all to believe it all.

The fall airing will also see a second episode a week right from the start. That means The Voice will be on three hours a week the entire season. Oh how networks love running things in the ground.

What do you think about all this? Would it be weird seeing new coaches in the spring?
