The Voice 2012 Battle Rounds Part 4 might have been short and sweet, but the talent and entertainment was just as strong as the night before.

Teams Adam, Christina, Cee Lo and Blake continued narrowing their teams down (or growing them, if they decided to use one of their two steals) so the Battle Rounds will only have one week left (and that makes me very, very sad). So let’s savior the moment and take a look back at Monday night’s battles.

Liz Davis vs. Nicole Johnson, “Baggage Claim.” So, I’m not a fan of the song. Sorry Blake and Miranda Lambert. But I’m just not. As for the battle, I thought they were pretty similar. Liz is more marketable (clearly) and more commanding of the stage. Nicole is softer and gentler, sweet and natural. It’s clear that Liz is the one that will be picked, but I’d still pick Nicole. Blake’s Pick: Liz.

Alessandra Guercio vs. Kayla Nevarez, “Wide Awake.” Speaking of songs I hate. Ugh. Why this song? Why??? This is so not a good song for a singing competition. Kalya’s performance was a bit rocky, while Alessandra’s was more controlled. To be honest, I didn’t like either performers. Must be the song. I guess I’d go with Alessandra. Adam’s Pick: Kayla. Christina goes in for a sneaky steal so Alessandra is now Team X-tina.

Emily Earle vs. Mackenzie Bourg, “Good Time.” Emily’s strong twang was a nice touch for the pop song. Mackenzie’s nice, sweet tone made up for the awkwardness his stage presence brought out. Poor guy needed a guitar but Cee Lo wanted him out of his comfort zone. I thought the performance overall was really fun. I’d go with Mackenzie with high high hopes that someone would steal Emily. Cee Lo’s Pick: Mackenzie. No one steals. Bummer.
