The Voice 2012 Top 10 Recap: Team Adam Shines

the-voice-2012-top-10-bryan-keith

The Voice 2012 T0p 10 took to the stance Monday night and it was another good show. I must say, this season is really solid compared to the past two. It’s hard to grade anyway below a C and I’m pretty picky. I will say that Team Adam shined just a little brighter this time.

On this week’s performance show, the coaches had some help with some industry insiders, including Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson.

Sylvia Yacoub, Girl On Fire (Team Christina)

This was a good song choice for Sylvia. And I’m always a fan of contestants playing instruments, so it was nice to see her playing the piano. She seemed to lose herself a bit during the chorus, though. I’m not so sure she did enough to make her safe Tuesday night. The coaches loved her, but will America? I’m not so sure. B

Terry McDermott, Summer of ’69 (Team Blake)

Per usual, Terry’s voice was strong and crystal-clear. It’s truly effortless for him. But I think I might be getting bored with him. This was just a mid-level performance. He needs to pull out something epic at this point. He needs to have another moment to keep voters interested. A-

Melanie Martinez, Seven Nation Army (Team Adam)

It was nice to see her with a guitar. Now if we could just get her without a Mickey Mouse bow in her hair. I guess I liked this performance more than I’ve liked her others. It was a good song choice on Adam’s part. She needed to shake things up a bit and this was a decent try at that. I guess. Ha. B

the-voice-top-10-selected

During Tuesday nights’ live results show of The Voice 2012, two members of the Season 3 Top 12 were sent home, giving us our Top 10.

The one-hour results show included a lot of filler, but that’s how it goes. No one really wants to read a filler recap, so let’s get to the results.

Carson brought the Top 12 onto the stage and started revealing who America’s votes have saved. Sent to safety first were Team Adam’s Bryan Keith and Team Christina’s Sylvia Yacoub.

A little later Team Cee Lo’s Nicholas David and Dez Duron from Team Christina are sent to safety.

The Voice 2012: Top 12 Results Show Tonight

the-voice-2012-top-12-results

After last night’s great performances from The Voice 2012 Top 12, anyone who goes home tonight is going to just feel weird. But it has to happen. And not just once, but twice.

Two people will be heading home, leaving us with The Voice Season 3 Top 10. And it doesn’t matter which team the contestants are on. That means that one or more of the coaches could be out by the end of the season.

So who is going home tonight? According to your votes in our poll, the contestants most likely to safe tonight are Trevin Hunte, Bryan Keith, Amanda Brown and Terry McDermott. I agree with you. If I had to pick two people that I think might be going home, right now at this moment, I’d say Nicholas David and Adrian Louise. But anything can happen.

Check back in later tonight for the live results and a full recap of the show later. Who do you hope makes it though to the Top 10?

The Voice 2012 Top 12 Performances Recap: Most Contestants Shine

the-voice-top-12-michaela-paige

In a pretty rare occurrence, I found most of The Voice 2012 Top 12 performances to be quite entertaining. There weren’t any earth-shattering performances like there were last week, but there also weren’t any really bad ones.

So, all in all, it was a great show and America has some tough choices ahead of them in the voting. It’s hard to imagine any of the 12 contestants heading home Tuesday night, but that’s going to happen for two of them.

As always, I’ll review each performance and assign the letter grade I think each deserved. Feel free to share your own recaps, grades and thoughts in our comments section below.

Michaela Paige, Blow Me One Last Kiss (Team Blake)

I liked the song choice. The start of the performance was pretty iffy, but it got better. She had a nice energy, but her voice never really connected. That wasn’t a great song to showcase her voice. The judges liked her and said it was effortless. I didn’t really get that, but what do I know.  B

Dez Duron, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You (Team Christina)

Dez’s performance was smooth and pitch-perfect like always. He’s got such a great stage presence, too. He looked like he was having a great time. The song was a bit boring, but the vocals were great. The judges loved him  A-
