Are fans of The Voice night owls? NBC must think so because starting May 10th the network is shifting the new show to a later timeslot. Instead of starting at 9PM ET like it will for its first two weeks The Voice will be delayed until a start time of 10PM ET. The move was made to accommodate two hour long episodes of The Biggest Loser.

“The Voice” next airs Tuesday, May 3 (9-11 p.m. ET) and then will be broadcast from 10-11 p.m. (ET) each Tuesday night on May 10, May 17 and May 24 following new episodes of “The Biggest Loser” (Tuesdays, 8-10 p.m. ET).

I didn’t mind staying up until 11PM last week for the premiere because the show had me hooked after the first hour, but getting started at 10PM? Eh. Things will have to start being incredible or this may become a next-morning-DVR event.

Also note that the show will be dropping to just one hour a week. My other favorite reality shows, Big Brother and American Idol, push out two to three episodes a week. Seems like NBC should have enough content to fill two one-hour episodes.

Update: Starting June 7th, The Voice will air at 9PM ET/PT for the live rounds.
