The Voice 2012 Finale Recap: And The Winner Is …

So who won The Voice 2012? It all came down to Nicholas David, Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope.
After two hours of star-studded performances, Cassadee Pope was declared the The Voice Season 3 winner. Terry McDermott finished second place and Nicholas David finished third.
That’s the second win in a row for Blake Shelton, as he coached last year’s winner Jermaine Paul, who was surprisingly absent from the finale.
If anyone has ever read any of my past blog posts, then you might know that I cannot stand reality TV results show. They’re always to long and about 98 percent filler. The only thing I hate more than results shows are finale shows. They’re even longer and filled with even more filler. And then at the very, very end, bam, we get a winner and some confetti and usually a “swan song.” But not this time. We got even less than usual!
The Voice couldn’t even time the pacing right enough for Cassadee to sing a victory song! She started singing as the credits were rolling and then it cut off and went into local news! What a bummer. I say we make all results shows 30 minutes long! Just get down to business!

The Voice 2012 Finale Part 1 Recap: The Top 3 Perform

The Voice 2012 Top 3 went head to head Monday night for one last time before a Season 3 winner is crowned Tuesday night.
The final three — Nicholas David, Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope — each sang three songs, but only one was a part of the competition. Each also performed an encore of their standout performance and a duet with their coach.
The episode opened on a very classy tribute to the Newtown, Conn., school shooting with “Hallelujah” performed by coaches Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera.
The Top 3 Performances
Nicholas David, Great Balls of Fire/Fire
Nicholas’ performance was staged nicely and it was awesome to see him at the piano — a flaming one at that. His vocals weren’t amazing because neither of those songs are really singer songs. But overall, the performance was pretty top-notch. It was filled with energy and his stage presence was the best it’s been. Well mostly. He got a little weird at the end with those “dance’ moves. But it was fun. A-
The Voice 2012 Top 3 Performances

It’s The Voice 2012 finale! Part one, anyway. Tonight the final three — Nicholas David, Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope — will sing for your votes one final time. And one of them will be crowned the The Voice Season 3 winner Tuesday night.
Also in the running for bragging rights are coaches Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton. A few weeks ago Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine each said goodbye to their teams as they didn’t earn enough America’s votes.

The Voice 2012 Finale Week: Top 3 Performs Tonight

Tonight The Voice 2012 Final Three take to the stage to perform for America’s votes one final time before the season 3 winner is crowned Tuesday night.
It’s all down to Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope and Nicholas David. So either Blake will get his second win as a coach or Cee Lo will earn his first. I’ve got my money on Cassadee and Blake, though. The show is scheduled to be an hour and a half, so I think (unlike last week), we should get two performances each from the final 3. And then it’s all up to you, America. Who are you going to crown the winner?
Then on Tuesday night, the two-hour finale will feature performances by Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars and The Killer. The finale conclude when a new champion is crowned.
Be sure to check back tonight for live coverage of the final 3 performances and then expect a full recap later. We’ll be back Tuesday night to do it again for the grand finale.
The Voice 2012: Top 3 Group Interview

This week on The Voice 2012, the Top 3 were revealed and we said goodbye to Team Cee Lo’s Trevin Hunte.
The Top 3 stopped by for their usual post show group interview. So Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott and Nicholas David joined Christina Milian and this week a few other guests. They were joined by The Voice alum Tony Lucca, Chris Mann, Juliet Simms and RaeLynn.
The first topic is Trevin’s elimination. They’re all missing him and talking him up.
“I just hope that he keeps continuing to grow and letting his heart lead him,” Nicholas said. “I can’t wait to see what he does.”
“He’s staggeringly talented,” Terry adds.
Christina asks the vets what they think about this year’s format and if they like it better. They better recognize because this season’s format is WAY better. So find out what they think and what else they all talked about in the video below.
The Voice 2012 Top 3 performs in the finals Monday and the winner will be crowned the following night during the grand finale episode. And we will be there for it all.
The Voice 2012 Top 4 Results Recap: On To The Finals!

On Monday night’s episode of The Voice 2012, we learned the results of America’s latest votes and who will be competing in the finals next week.
America decided they wanted to hear more from Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope and Nicholas David. That means Trevin Hunte’s journey on The Voice has ended.
Before we got to see any results, we got an exhausting look back at the performances from the night before then more filler as Carson spent some time asking the coaches some pointless questions.
And since no singing competition show will ever get the results show format right in a nice, tight little 30-minute spot, we are treated with duet from Cassadee and Terry.
And just when you think there can’t possibly be anymore pointlessness, there’s a performance by last season’s Juliet Simms, singing her single Wild Child.
The Voice 2012 Top 4 Results

Tonight on The Voice 2012 one more singer will be sent packing and three others will head on to the finale next week as The Voice Season 3 Final 3.
Regardless of who goes home, Teams Blake and Cee Lo will both remain in the competition in some form. So how did America’s votes play out after last night’s performance show? Let’s find out.

The Voice 2012 Top 4 Performances Recap: No Big Deal, Just The Semi-Finals

In what seemed like a complete afterthought from the whole competition, The Voice 2012 Top 4 performed for a shot in next week’s finals Monday night.
Each artist sang one (sort of lame) song and that was it. One song each. One hour. Why was last week’s episode SO long and tedious and this one, which is a pretty important one, rushed through and boring? How odd! So are you ready for the shortest recap in The Voice history? Here you go.
Trevin Hunte, Wind Beneath My Wings
This song? This version? This was not a good performance for Trevin. To be completely honest, I absolutely hated it. Almost more than anything else this season. And that ending!? Was any of it on pitch? If you disagree with my grade on this one, please go back and listen to the ending. D-
Nicholas David, You Are So Beautfiul
I think Nicholas has covered all the sappy classics now with this one. This was a good performance for him, though, despite the annoying song choice. It took awhile to get off the ground, but when it did, it was pretty good. B+
Cassadee Pope, Stupid Boy
I was a little irritated to hear she was singing another country singer (Blake is clearly playing on the country vote) but I was happy that she didn’t sing in as if it were a country song. It was actually a really good performance and I think it will be popular on iTune, securing her a spot in the finals. A
Terry McDermott, Let It Be
First of all, Carson Daley saying that this song unifies everyone is ridiculous, but whatever, to the task at hand. I thought it was way boring. Terry sang it very well, but he did absolutely nothing to make it stand out from any other time it’s ever been performed. B+
The performances were just all so boring and there. It was probably my least favorite episode of The Voice ever.
One person will be going home tomorrow night and three will compete in the finals. Who do you want to make it to the end?
